The HERO

The HERO

Heroes are visionary thinkers and doers. They often lead or champion something important to them. They balance their natural independence with empathy and connection with others, making them well-loved as well as respected.

They have secure attachment with some hints of avoidance under pressure, and tend to self-regulate well, staying connected and equanimous under pressure.  These are people who have done their work, and everyone around them benefits from it.

Heroes flourish when they cultivate their connection with others and all of humanity, and weave that into their vision.

STRENGTHS

Self-Regulation:

Heroes possess a remarkable sense of self-sufficiency, competence, and are able to track and regulate their state well. This makes them reliable, excellent partners, friends, and leaders.

Balanced Self-Sufficiency and Connection:

They have learned how to integrate their independent nature with active, healthy connections to others. They are the rare mix of autonomous and open-hearted.

Effective Leadership:

Heroes often emerge as excellent leaders, with a visionary mindset that allows them to see and inspire a broader perspective. They tend to be inspiring role models.

Equanimity:

Heroes maintain an even-tempered and level-headed approach, even in challenging situations. Their equanimity helps them make sound decisions under pressure.

Empowered Emotional Awareness:

Heroes have learned to integrate and empower their emotional awareness, fostering a deep connection with others. They champion causes not just for self-benefit but for the greater good, driven by empathy and a sense of purpose.

TRIGGER CHALLENGES

Effective Trigger Management:

Heroes have learned how to handle moments of trigger effectively. They typically recognize when they’re triggered and have the capacity to self-regulate their emotional responses.

Reconnection:

When triggered, Heroes recognize their default urge to disconnect, judge, or walk away. They may take some time or space in the moment, but they make a conscious effort to communicate this and always aim to come back and initiate reconnection.

Dismissive Tendencies:

In certain situations, Heroes may still dismiss things as “not important” or trivial, possibly underestimating the significance of these matters to others.

Aversion and Avoidance:

While generally adept at facing triggers, they might occasionally resort to avoidance when faced with something they strongly feel averse to, rather than proactively working on integrating the issue.

THE HERO GROWTH GOAL:

To continue to strengthen and expand both their impact in the world
AND their connection with humankind.

PATHWAYS FOR GROWTH

Deepening Heartfelt Connections:

Heroes can continue to strengthen their emotional and empathic capacities. They do well cultivating deep, heartfelt connections with themselves, others, and life in general.

    Balanced Perspective:

It’s important for Heroes to not just focus solely on the big picture and neglect the seemingly “small things” – these can often have a profound impact in relationships and life. Take time to appreciate and value the small things.

    Guarding Against Superiority:

Heroes should be vigilant about any tendencies toward feelings of superiority or judgment of others. They should keep an eye out for over-identifying with being “evolved” or thinking they’ve finished working on themselves. Keeping a strong, humble, connected core will strengthen their ability to execute a big vision.

    NEXT EVOLUTION OF THE HERO:

    THE BODHISATTVA SELF

The Hero’s natural evolution, the Bodhisattva Self, is the complete integration of the Hero’s visionary capacities with a heart that is absolutely aligned and unified with humanity.

The Bodhisattva Self is your highest expression in this life.
